Transparency & Accountability
Let's Build Trust Together
Transparency isn’t just about sharing information, it’s about making sure residents can actually understand it and use it to hold their City accountable.
As someone who’s served on Council and worked in both the private and public sectors, I’ve seen how policies, decisions, and reports can sometimes feel inaccessible. When that happens, residents lose trust, and accountability breaks down.
Why It Matters
Government transparency is about more than posting reports online. It’s the City’s obligation to share information clearly, honestly, and in a way that helps residents make informed decisions about their community. When citizens understand how their tax dollars are collected and spent, they can engage meaningfully in the process, and that’s how strong communities are built.
Where We Can Do Better
Spruce Grove already provides a number of online reports and updates, but too often they’re difficult to find or buried in technical language. True transparency means presenting information that is
Clear and easy to understand, especially financial and project updates.
Timely and complete, so residents know what’s happening before decisions are finalized.
Interactive, inviting residents to contribute ideas and feedback.
Transparency enables accountability, and accountability builds trust.
My Commitment
I believe residents deserve more than data dumps and closed-door decisions. As your Mayor, I will continue to advocate for:
Policies that set clear standards for how administration measures success and reports progress.
Accessible communication tools that make it easier for residents to stay informed and get involved.
Open dialogue between Council, administration, and the community — because decisions should be made with residents, not just for them.
Have an Idea? Let’s Talk.
Is there an area where you’d like to see more transparency or accountability from City Hall?
Send me a note, I’d love to hear your thoughts.
